Worship Ministries at St. Gabriel Catholic Church
At St. Gabriel, our Worship Ministries are devoted to helping the parish community enter more fully and reverently into the sacred mysteries of our faith. These ministries serve at the heart of our liturgical life, supporting the celebration of the Holy Mass and other sacred rites by fostering prayerful participation and a spirit of welcome and reverence.
Through the service of dedicated volunteers, our Worship Ministries enhance the beauty, hospitality, and solemnity of our worship. These ministries include:
- Ushers and Greeters: Welcoming all who gather in God's house, assisting with seating and collections, and providing a spirit of hospitality for parishioners and guests
- Lectors: Proclaiming the Word of God during Mass with reverence, helping all to hear and reflect upon Sacred Scripture
- Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion: Assisting priests and deacons in the distribution of the Eucharist at Mass, and sometimes bringing Communion to the sick and homebound
- Altar Servers: Assisting the celebrant on the altar, helping to make the liturgy flow smoothly, and serving as examples of reverence for all
- Music Ministry: Leading us in sung prayer, enriching our worship with hymns and sacred music that lift our hearts to God
- Art & Environment: Preparing and beautifying our worship space for the seasons of the Church year, helping us enter more deeply into each celebration
- Nursing Home and Homebound Ministry: Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion bring Holy Communion, prayer and companionship to parishioners in nursing homes or those confined to their homes, helping them stay connected to our faith community
- Funeral Guild: Offers compassionate support to families during times of loss. Members assist with funeral liturgies, provide hospitality, and help ensure that services are carried out with dignity and reverence
- Catechist Ministry: Share the Catholic faith by teaching and guiding children, teens, and adults in religious education. They help form disciples through prayer, instruction, and example, nurturing a deeper relationship with Christ and His Church
- Coffee and Donut Ministry
- Coffee & Donut Ministry (Parish - Monthly): Join us in creating a warm and welcoming environment after Mass! Volunteers help serve coffee and donuts, offering fellowship and hospitality to our parish community
- Donut Ministry (Elementary Faith Formation - Weekly): Help make faith formation mornings special! Volunteers provide coffee and donuts for parents, and donuts for children, fostering community and connection
