Faith Formation - Middle School
Faith Formation for Middle School (6th - 8th Grade)
Our Catholic Faith Formation program for middle schoolers is designed to deepen their understanding of faith, Scripture, and moral decision-making through engaging, age appropriate experiences. These formative years are a vital time to help students grow in their relationship with Christ and prepare for lifelong discipleship.
St. Gabriel's middle school program is open to middle school students in grades sixth through eighth. The group meets on Sundays from 11:45 am - 2:00 pm with the Life Teen students.
Program Goals:
- Strengthen understanding of Catholic teachings. Students explore the core beliefs of our faith, including the Creed, Sacraments, morality, and prayer
- Foster personal faith development. Middle schoolers are encouraged to reflect on their relationship with God and live out their faith in daily life
- Prepare for Confirmation. Many programs begin or support preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation, especially in grades 7 - 8.
Teaching Approach
- Interactive lessons: Role-playing, journaling, group discussions, and multimedia tools
- Faith in action: Service projects and Parish involvement
- Safe space for questions: Students are invited to explore doubts and deepen understanding
